River Garden

An idyllic garden by the river unfolds across this cushion: fish glide beneath scalloped waves while trees, flowers and birds line the banks. The scene draws on Bengali folk traditions where water, earth and sky are inhabited by delicately observed creatures. Hand-worked Kantha stitches fill every element with rhythmic texture, and the palette of moss, terracotta, indigo and ivory grounds the composition in warm, earthy calm.
